Measure
Measure out 8 ounces of
milk replacer powder
(2 measures*)
Add Water
Add 2 quarts of warm
(110°F) water
Mix
Mix thoroughly with a whisk or power mixer
Feed
Feed 2 quarts 2x daily
for the first week
Adjust
Feed 3 quarts 2x daily
until weaning
Newborn calves should be given colostrum (cow’s first milk) as early as possible and continue for the first 24 to 48 hours of life.
Mix 12 ounces of milk replacer powder (3 measures*) into 3 quarts of warm (110°F) water. Feed 2-3 quarts twice daily until weaning. Consult with a qualifi ed veterinarian regarding health concerns. Mix 8 ounces of milk replacer powder (2 measures*) into 2 quarts of warm (110°F) water. Feed 2 quarts of this solution
2 times daily for the first week, then 3 quarts 2 times daily until weaning. Provide a good quality texturized feed after 4 days of age. Hay should not be offered
until calves are weaned.
*The measuring cup provided in the bag holds approximately 4 ounces of milk replacer powder. For greater accuracy, a suitable scale is recommended.
