Measure
Measure out 4 ounces of
milk replacer powder
(1 measure*)

Add 1 quart of warm
(110°F) water
Mix
Mix thoroughly with a whisk or power mixer
Feed
Feed 2 to 4 ounces of this solution 4x daily for the first week
Adjust
Feed 8 to 12 ounces 3x daily until weaning
Newborn goat kids should be given colostrum (doe’s first milk) as early as possible and continued for the first 24 to 48 hours of life.
For best mixing results, sprinkle the powder into warm (110°F) clean water and mix thoroughly with a whisk or power mixer. Mix 4 ounces of milk replacer powder
(1 measure*) into 1 ½ pints of warm (110°F) water. Feed 2 to 4 ounces of this solution 4 times daily for the first week, then 8 to 12 ounces 3 times daily until weaning.
For ad libitum feeding, mix 20 ounces (1 ¼ pounds) of milk replacer powder with 1 gallon of warm (110°F) water. Allow the solution to cool and then offer ad libitum through a suitable nipple feeder. Milk should be available at all times.
Provide a good quality kid creep feed at 3 to 6 days of age and restrict hay intake to the amount a goat kid will eat in 1 hour. Wean goat kids at a minimum of 30 days and weighing at least 25 pounds.
*The measuring cup provided in the bag holds approximately 4 ounces of milk replacer powder. For greater accuracy, a suitable scale is recommended.
